A judge has denied the advocacy group, the Coalition for Mercury-Free Drugs, its bid to prevent the government from giving pregnant women flu vaccines containing thimerosal, a preservative with a small amount of mercury. The group argued that the mercury could injure the fetus and cause medical problems so pregnant women should get a thimerosal-free version. The group has been given 2 weeks to present more evidence on causation and the amount of vaccine that contains thimerosal before the judge dismisses the suit.
