During the FDA meeting held on June 30, 37 drug safety experts recommended making acetaminophen products containing 1,000 milligrams, prescription drugs and also if people consume more than two drinks per day, they should not take acetaminophen. The FDA should also reduce the maximum dose of acetaminophen in over-the-counter pills to 325 mg, from 500 mg and to reduce the maximum daily dosage to less than 4,000 mg.
