Vical Inc., the biopharmaceutical company that is developing a swine flu vaccine under an agreement with the US Navy, says it has started testing a prototype on animals. If the trials are successful and funding is secured, the San Diego company said it is ready to begin manufacturing the drug for testing in humans.
