According to a study from the Mayo Clinic, presented at the American Urological Association (AUA) meeting, cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins) may protect men against prostate cancer and other urological problems as well. For the study, researchers analyzed data on 2,447 men who were followed for 14 years, and found that those taking statins were 2 to 3 times less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer compared with those who weren"t taking the medicines.
