Interpol seized more than $6.65 million of imitation drugs against malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis in Southeast Asia for the second time in three years. Operation Storm involved almost 200 raids conducted across Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Among the seized medications were fake malaria drugs based on artemisinin, which renders the malaria parasite resistant to real drugs.
